A few spots of rain appeared throughout the day but did not deter the six cars who chose to take a run from the A638 just north of Doncaster to Cannon Hall at Cawthorne near Barnsley, passing through the pleasant villages of Notton, Woolley and West Bretton.
Despite the poor weather forecast, the day was warm with the occasional glimpse of the sun peeking through a sky full of cloud.
On arrival at Cannon Hall, the first port of call was the cafe within the Garden Centre and soon after the shop and the Garden Centre itself made a bid to lighten our wallets and purses.
Some decided to take a walk around the grounds, visit the Hall and Museum or spend more at the Farm Shop. Sausages and other comestibles were the order of the day.
The walk from the Garden Centre to the Hall gets longer each year!!!
After a pleasant and relaxing day most of us set off around 3pm for a shorter return journey back to Doncaster. Although Tommy Hughes set off before, he ended up at the back of the line of cars (yet to figure that out!).
