Day Run to Hardwick Hall 2010

16th May 2010

Met at the car park opposite the Crown Hotel in Bawtry. Set off at 9.30 a.m. driving along the Great North Road via Scrooby, Ranskill, Barmby Moor, Babworth to Clumber Park main entrance on the A614 parking on the grass verge either side.
Commencing at Clumber Park, a drive through the back-roads to Hardwick Hall and return via a different route. Full route guidance was provided and the run completed at leisure rather than in convoy.
To our surprise there was a commemoration to the WWII Airborne Forces with a Douglas DC3 Dakota flypast celebrating their 70th Anniversary, an added bonus.
After spending a leisurely few hours, we set off for the cream teas at the Old School Tea Rooms twixt Norton & Cuckney - just to round off the day.
