We were lucky in that the weather for the run to Beverley was generally kind with only one light shower. Starting at The Green Tree Inn near Hatfield a total of 10 cars made the one and a half hour run, picking up Ken on the way. We passed through Thorne, Moorends, Rawcliffe, Howden, Gilberdyke, North Cave, Walkington and on to Beverley where bacon sandwiches and tea or coffee were waiting for us at the hotel which is just across from the impressive structure of St Mary's church.
Some decided to do a little sightseeing before setting off on the return journey.
Unfortunately, Tommy broke down on the M18, losing his electrics, and had to be 'assisted' home. Best to get rid of the gremlins now rather than wait for the main rally season.
Those who decided not to join us missed an enjoyable day out!
